Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Spice Bars

Yes, I'm still lovin' on the pumpkin spiced foods...
PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP SPICE BARS
2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. canned pumpkin puree
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9x13 baking dish with foil, being sure to leave 3-4" of foil hanging over each end of the dish.  Lightly coat the foil with non-stick spray.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, pie spice, baking soda & salt.  Set this aside.
With an electric mixed cream the butter and sugar together until smooth and light yellow.
Add the egg and vanilla, mix again.  Add the pumpkin puree.  Mix well (the batter appears curdled, but that is how it should be).
Slowly mix in the dry ingredients, just until combined.  Fold in the chocolate chips.
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish.
Bake 35-40 minutes, or until the edges have begun to pull away for the sides.
Let the cake cool completed, then using the foil ends, lift out of the pan and cut into 24 bars.
